Swedish to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
I Have searched for the obvious...incl. Guiding Principle/s. Any ideas?

Discussion

Charlesp May 22, 2014:
Thanks Sven I would guess then that the role of Managing Director might be a bit different than the role of a CEO (though not in Sweden, as you mention).
Sven Petersson May 22, 2014:
@ Charlesp, Yes, in some countries a company can have both (CEO outranking MD), but that is not the case in Sweden. You and the Asker may benefit from studying http://www.notisum.se/rnp/sls/lag/20050551.HTM
Charlesp May 22, 2014:
Can a company have both? Both a CEO and a Managing Director? And does this have to be the same person, or can two different people each take one of these positions within a particular company?
George Hopkins May 21, 2014:
Sven and Deane OK, OK, have a nice day both of you.
Deane Goltermann May 21, 2014:
Brilliant minds... before 12 noon...
Sven Petersson May 21, 2014:
@ George, Be nice to Deane; respect his NaturallySpeaking L-plate!
George Hopkins May 21, 2014:
Deane Are 'their' indeed?
Deane Goltermann May 21, 2014:
@George, Not necessarily ... their are British firms that use CEO!
George Hopkins May 21, 2014:
Deane Depends which language you are speaking.
Deane Goltermann May 21, 2014:
And ... The company I did this for used CEO as title for their 'VD', as opposed to managing director.
The Kollegiet translation also uses CEO! But, there is naturally no absolute for that one.

Thank you very much!
agree Charlesp : works best - however not for every company. And that proves why a machine can't do a translation - a human asks questions a machine doesn't!

Instructions to the CEO (chief executive officer)

I used the Swedish Code of corporate governance (Kollegiet för svensk bolagsstyrning; Svenks kod för bolagstyrning) where they talk more about 'arbetsfördelningen mellan ordföranden och
