This is from a "projet de vie" for a little boy with Asperger Syndrome. The mother describes how it was diagnosed, what treatments he follows and what the parents seek for his schooling and future treatment.

The sentence is:

Notre fils X, âgé de 6 ans et demi, a été diagnostiqué autiste Asperger le 22/04/2011 par le Dr Y (**CMP** Beaumont). Cet avis pédopsychiatrique avait été demandé par le médecin de la PMI à l'occasion de la visite médicale scolaire de 11/2010 suite aux troubles de socialisation et problèmes alimentaires remontés par l'enseignante et dont nous avions conscience.

I think your solution here is to use the French "CMP" acronym, then put it in full in French, then provide a sort of explanation of what it is.
I've worked with children on the autism spectrum in the classroom under school inclusion projects and have had contact with CMPs. See my reference post.

agree Nikki Scott-Despaigne : And you are right to keep it in French. It's a proper noun, describing a particular institution. The first rule is to keep the French. Afterwards, it may be helpful to provide a neutral term, without capital letters, as none have English names of course!

Assuming that “CMP” stands for “centre médico-psychologique”, I don’t think “psychological center” sounds native. Since psychiatric consultations are provided at some CMPs at least, I would opt for “medical and psychiatric center” (cf. St. Edward’s Medical and Psychiatric Centre in Notre Dame, Indiana). Other bona fide examples of “medical and psychiatric center” can be found on the Internet.

Les textes légaux définissent ce lieu comme le pivot du service. C’est au C.M.P que sont accueillies toutes les demandes de prise en charge.
