Anti-icer Explanation: From what I understand they add a product to the rail. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 19 mins (2015-04-02 09:13:30 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- ...or maybe de-icing device... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 49 mins (2015-04-02 09:42:52 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Tool: http://www.melbye.com/no/no/produkter/energinett-1/aus-2/ver... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 54 mins (2015-04-02 09:48:35 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Ice removal rod: https://www.dehn-international.com/en/988/602363/Familie-htm... De-icing tool Explanation: US and UK usage is 'de-icing' for ice removal, 'anti-icing' for ice prevention. The reference uses 'de-icing tool' for one fitted to a remotely controlled vehicle for use on overhead lines, but I feel as a generic term, it is suitable for the hand tools illustrated in Norskpro's references. Again as a generic, it would apply to a third-rail device, but as far as I know third rail operators use anti-ice heating or de-icing fluids. Reference: http://www.google.co.uk/patents/US6494141 |
