French term
contrats financiers liés au titre X
French to English
Bus/Financial
Investment / Securities
insider trading
This is in a letter to a subject of an insider trading investigation in France.
The following or similar phrases are repeated throughout:
"à l’occasion de vos interventions sur des contrats financiers liés au titre X"
Is it assuming too much that these 'contrats financiers' are futures, and if so, how would I word it:
"at the time of your trading in futures on X shares,"
or something more formal?
Thanks very much!

financial contracts linked to X shares
They're basically talking about derivatives, of which futures are one example. But I think you should stick to a straight, literal translation.
"A derivative is a contract that derives its value from the performance of an underlying entity. This underlying entity can be an **asset**, index, or interest rate."

Wikipedia also says: "Some of the more common derivatives include forwards, **futures**, options, swaps, and variations of these."

derivatives linked to X shares
financial contracts "linked to" some underlying "titles" are simply derivatives - [pas la peine de tourner autour du pot]; from other questions related to this same ST the "titles" are almost certainly shares

: why not say 'futures' given that it is written in black and white?

on the occasion of your trading in financial/future contracts on such and such security
I say 'security' because it is the English for 'titre' in French. A security is not necessarily a stock.
I say 'such and such' because I assume X is the symbol for specific securities Asker is unwilling to disclose
