De Plant load is de input (van grondstoffen) of de output (van eindproduct). Voor elke fabriek is dat een getal dat in zekere, (beperkte) mate beheersbaar is: de plant load bandbreedte of - options. Voor een product met onzekere of sterk varierende vraag, is het wenselijk de mogelijkheid de load te varieren, dus de bandbreedt van die load zo groot mogelijk te maken. Hier is sprake van het testen van een katalysator om de fabriek flexibeler te (kunnen) maken wat output van de plastic Innovene betreft
