Asker: der faule Kompromiss gefällt mir schon gut, denn mein 'schummeln' ist mir eigentlich zu niedlich. Anstatt flop würde ich dann eher Pleite oder Reinfall nehmen...

agree  Thomas Pfann: Der „faule Kompromiss“ gefällt mir auch gut. Allerdings finde ich, dass man dann gar nicht mehr unbedingt etwas zweites braucht. Merkel sagt, es wäre „ein großer Schritt“. Der Schreiber meint, „fauler Kompromiss“ träfe es besser.

Explanation:
Nicht sicher, ob "fudge" hier mehr in die Richtung von Ausflüchte machen oder von pfuschen geht. Nun aber ist bei Pfusch das Versagen schon mitinbegriffen.

Asker: auch schön - wobei Flickwerk nicht unbedingt den negativen Beigeschmack von Pfusch hat, 'fudge' aber wohl doch.
