If it's about explosive warheads, as the guidance fins seem to suggest, then possibly Gefechtskopf-Trägersystem - could be shot from something along the lines of a TOW missile launcher

What is odd in your piece of copy, is that "delivery system" usually refers to the launcher of a missile or projectile. The description, however, seems to be describing what is actually launched, hence the vanes for stabilization.

Your idea seems pretty good.
I visualise the thing as something like a hollow mortar bomb case with variable loading options. IIRR, a payload cup is also the description for the grenade launcher attachments that can be attached to rifles and use a propellant cartridge in the rifle magazine to fire whatever is in the cup.

@Yorkshireman: Thank you for your patience. To tell you the truth, I have no idea who the manufacturer is. The document only lists the inventor. They only want a translation of the claims, but there is nobody I can ask since this assignment was given to me by an agency.

Ja, ich habs mir nochmal genauer angesehen. Es geht nicht um ein Anschussrohr, sondern um ein Ding (cartridge) ähnlich einer Schrotpatrone, wobei die Schrotkugeln die Payload bilden.

Innerhalb der Cartridge sitzen das Delivery System und die Payload. Unter Delivery wird hier anscheinend das Befördern der Payload aus der Cartridge verstanden. Beim Delivery System handelt es sich um einen in die Cartridge gesteckten zylindrischen Einsatz, der beim Abschuss aus der Cartridge herausfliegt. Der Einsatz besteht aus zwei Hauptkomponenten, der Payload Cup und dem Stabilizer.

Zu der Übersetzung fällt mir jetzt nichts ein. Sowas lasse ich gern bis zum Schluss offen, denn wenn ich soundsoviel Stunden mit dem Text gekämpft und jedes Wort gelesen habe, weiß ich viel mehr als vorher.

A cartridge comprising a payload delivery system

Could the payload delivery system be the holder of a propellant charge that "delivers" the payload (cartridge)? - a grenade launcher cartridge sounds a bit odd, but the others could be considered as munitions - I gather the manufacturer generally makes shotgun cartridges.

Das kann aber meiner Meinung nach kein Abschussrohr sein, da ja "eine Patrone das "payload delivery system" umfasst, oder denke ich falsch?
