vi chiedo di aiutarmi nella traduzione di una frase che no so come rendere. "it was full of straight couples of all ages GOING AT IT like teenagers DYING to get past FIRST BASE before their parents walked in"

io ho tradotto: "era pieno di coppie eterosessuali di tutte le età che si CONSUMAVANO come adolescenti AGONIZZANTI che cercano di SUPERARE I PRELIMINARI prima che i loro genitori rientrino in casa" che ne dite?!
grazie.

CONTESTO: un racconto di un pomeriggio in un parco Romano da parte di una straniera. Si rende conto che le panchine sono piene di coppie che si sbaciucchiano.

potresti tradurlo così "coppie di tutte le età che ci davano dentro come adolescenti che muoiono dalla voglia di..."

"to go at it" significa "profondere molte energie per fare qualcosa" (Attack, especially with energy; also, proceed vigorously.)
