French term or phrase: derain
A door handle proposed for building renovation is described as being "laiton et derain noir". Others are "laiton", "laiton poli" etc. so no problem there. Brand is Serdanelli, but nothing of help on the Web, that I can find.
Any ideas on what it might be? It COULD be a typo for "étain" (pewter) - and there is indeed a thing called "étain noir" - but I find it increasingly unlikely that anyone would have compounded the error with a "laiton et D'étain", and have run out of imagination, so I'm really looking for proposals that would exclude this option in favour of something more likely. TALIA.
