French term

parage de la plaie

French to English Medical Medical (general) forehead laceration
Hi,
The patient went to the ER for a 3 cm forehead laceration.

The sentence is "Un parage de la plaie n'a pas été nécessaire"

I have seen different translations for this:

"wound excision" https://dictionary.reverso.net/french-english/parage de la p...
"wound trimming"
"wound care" http://gdt.oqlf.gouv.qc.ca/Resultat.aspx
"debridement"

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Joanna

wound excision/debridement in this case

Le parage d'une plaie consiste à en retirer les tissus morts, endommagés ou infectés afin d'améliorer le potentiel de guérison des tissus sains.

wound excision/debridement was not necessary. But wound care was of course.

excisional debridement is OK but here it is without.
Note from asker:
Thanks Dr. Manu, I might be reading too much into this but I have found that there is "debridement" and "excisional debridement" (https://medcom.uiowa.edu/theloop/announcements/quest-newsletter-important-coding-updates-documenting-debridement). Which one would it be in this context?
