Pay telephone Language variant: Public Call Office, Public Call box, Coin telephone, ... Explanation: While these are generally shops, there are a whole variety of terms for them. Pay telephone is the standard translation in American English, despite this referring normally to a phone booth, and not the shop usually designated by a taxiphone. I might lean toward public call office or something like that, but the web reference I listed, from the EU terminology folks, gives a bunch of other variants that may fit your context better.
