Science - Medical: Pharmaceuticals / toxicology
Japanese term or phrase: 分2
From a toxicology study using rhesus macaques:
16頭のアカゲザルを4群に分けて(一群雄2頭、雌2頭)、0、4、8及び12mg/kg/日のXXX薬剤(分2にて経鼻胃内投与)をXXX溶液で懸濁して92日にわたって経口投与した。

I thought 分2 might mean split into two doses, since a summary of the study describes the administration as 「一日二回 経鼻胃内投与」.

However I'm also thrown by the combined use of 経口投与 and 経鼻胃内投与 and wonder if this 分2 could conceivably be a subgroup given the drug nasogastrically. The study is actually titled '...oral toxicity test', but apart from the title and the quoted sentence, all the talk is of nasogastric administration.

(Although oral and nasogastric are both enteral routes, nasogastric would not be considered a form of oral administration.)

Maybe this is author error? I suppose a lot of recycling and cut & pasting goes on in writing these reports. Any thoughts welcome!
