Its kind of hard to explain Sylvia (for me anyway!)
In my view, they ain’t benefits until they’ve actually been used i.e. part or full surrender after 8 years. However, I would call them favourable tax conditions.
in other words, I don’t mind the "previous" (or "existing" would say the same thing) its more the benefits that could be construed as misleading.
Of course, feel free to find a more concise phrasing if you can

My dear Marc, thank you for the explanation! Very helpful indeed. This is certainly your field! However, based on your definition, isn't that exactly 'previous tax beneifts' - the benefits (favourable conditions) they had before?
