agree Nobuo Kameyama : I worked for a publicly-listed electronic component supplier for 11 years and was one of "the team leaders" responsible for supervising approximately 50 part timers, however, my company did not consider my position as a management level position.

Imagine how top heavy an organization would be if team leaders were considered management level!

person holding a post

Depending on companie's polycy, though. In general in Japan, 役職者 is used as 管理職 person, i.e., an executive or a person holding a manageria position. However, in your text, 役職者 seems to have a meaning of 肩書きを有する者, a person who holds his position in his company (organization), that is, not a common employee.

neutral casey : I've never heard of a company that considers a team leader position a management level position. Team leaders do not direct or control a business only a specific process. There's a world of difference.

Thank you. Longman advanced American dictionary says manage is to direct or control a business and the people who work in it, and managerial is relating to the job of a manager. So team leaders may be persons holding a managerial post.

Thank you casey for your input, but it seems that the term magerial staff can include administrative staffers such as directors, CEO, and CFO as well as team leaders and other lower position holders (the UCLA football program managerial staff is a bit different in its roles, or in the usage of the term "managerial staff" itself, though.)
