Norwegian term
politisk møte
Norwegian to English
Other
Government / Politics
In this context a "politisk møte" is the highest body in the redevelopment project for Groruddal (Groruddalssatsingen), but it is used for similar projects, too. Example: "Ved behandling av Årsmelding 2007 ga Politisk møte 2008 sin tilslutning til fire forslag om vektlegginger i det videre arbeidet med Groruddalssatsingen." From what I can find out it is similar to an annual general meeting, only here the participants are state and municipal authorities and other interested parties. "policy meeting" is what I've come up with so far - "political" is out here, as that would imply a party-political meeting, which this is not.

Political meeting
Miljøvernministeren, ministerne fra deltagende departementer og byrådsleder, byråder og bydelenes bydelsutvalgledere - these are all duly elected politicians, representing one or several parties. How this could NOT be called a political meeting is a little beyond me.

Comment: "I finally agreed with you, Per. And that it should be written with capital letters - at least in this context. Entering link here for future reference: http://www.prosjekt-groruddalen.oslo.kommune.no/groruddalssatsingen/ . Thanks."

policy meeting, policy-making meeting
I see no reason to believe that "policy meeting" is wrong. Policy-making meeting is another option.

policy meeting
This is what I thought of even before I read as far as your suggestion. Certainly in Danish, this would be the case: politik can refer to either politics or policy.
Note from asker:
Thanks Diarmuid. But the trickier question here is actually "møte". Any thoughts on that (see definition I've added) |

Governing Board
It is a meeting, but not just a meeting; it sounds like a decision-making body, ie an institution, so I would refer it to as a Governing Board or a meeting of the Governing Board.

stakeholders meeting/conference
Meeting where all public and private organisations that are touched or involved in a specific issue are invited.
Example sentence:
The Commission organized this stakeholder conference, which occurred on 22 nd November, on the EU\'s approach to the international co-operation against climate change after 2012, when the current Kyoto Protocol’s targets end.
