This is a document describing the specifications for solar panel installations. It is entitled:
Procédés photovoltaïques
Document technique pour la sécurité des bâtiments
I originally felt that "Photovoltaic Installations" would be a suitable translation, but then in the definition section, the document states the following:
Installation ou procédé photovoltaïque
Ensemble des équipements composant l’installation et permettant à celle-ci de fournir de l’électricité à partir de l’énergie solaire.
And indeed, in the preamble, it says:
Le présent référentiel a pour objet de définir les dispositions relatives à la conception, l’installation et la maintenance des procédés photovoltaïques, appelés aussi installations photovoltaïques dans la suite du document et composés de modules photovoltaïques.
I just feel that "photovoltaic processes" is not appropriate here but perhaps I'm missing something. Is there a translation for "procédés" which might be more appropriate? I'd be grateful for some insights.

I think this is simply an instance where FR has two similar words where only one exists in EN, and the writer themselves say they are simply alternative names for the same thing.
So I would tend to simply forget 'procédé' and use 'installation' throughout, removing the redundant elements.
However, if you are looking for another word you might use, this could possibly be a solution (provided you don't also have 'système' already!)

In EN, 'photovoltaic process' here might mean, for example, the process (or method) by which sunlight is converted into electricity via a PV cell — it would not generally refer to the hardware system or installation used to implement that process.
So I would tend to simply forget 'procédé' and use 'installation' throughout, removing the redundant elements.
However, if you are looking for another word you might use, this could possibly be a solution (provided you don't also have 'système' already!)
