Specialist Statement
Hello - I am flummoxed by the use of mandat in two specialist statements written to a law firm. Mandate in this case doesn't work at all, I've seen "terms of reference" used in the research I've done, but that wouldn't work for all instance. I've included three examples (1 and 2 are from the same document). Thanks for your help!
1. Etter anmodning brukes Røsæg standardmandat som disposisjon.
2. Mandatet er datert DD.DD.DDDD
3. Nærværende spesialisterklæring skrives etter anmodning fra advokatfirmaet XXXXXX, ved advokat YYYYY, henvendelse datert DD.DD.DDDD. Det er gitt mandat i samme brev som i store trekk følger Røsægmandatet.

In your example, the Røsægmandatet is an official order or commission to do something. Search the term "court remit".
Another use of mandat is within the (child welfare) court, where a psychologist/specialist is assigned by the court to determine whether, let's say, a child's parents are suited as caretakers.
authorisation in the context of the røsægmandat does not work.
